No advantage, really?, then why are they doing it
I'm guessing they have to relearn to stay with on track when the track is lined with what just looks like paint instead of
curbs they can feel

but I don't see why qualifying should be any different than race

No advantage eh? ask Ricciardo what happens when you pass outside the limits of the track

Or Grosjean in Hungary.

Vettel must have gone off with all four wheels like three times on his lap. Personally I think they should have to stay within the white lines at all times and it be at least HALF the car within bounds, no less than that. Excluding crashes, moving to avoid a crash.

Going to be a snore fest tomorrow unless there is a good fight between Merc and Ferrari.

Yeah but dont just look at Vettel, everyone was doing it because they were told they could. What was Whiting and his team thinking by saying they could run with all 4 wheel off the track, its against the rules and is just crazy for them to allow it.
The whole thing is a total farce and really annoys the fans.

I agree. It's pathetic. A perfect example of a double standard. Webber got so far out at one point we was fully in the run off area.

On leaving track, Impossible to police, not sufficent hihg definition camera coverage without using and reviewing on board data for each car on fastest laps, then you get into debates into whether cars completely crossed limes and protests. Can't be done in real time to give drivers feedback.

Ya think? I mean with today's high def cameras, there is clear indication when all 4 tires are over the line. Just like American football, there is clear indication when a foot is out of bounds. Similar could be done here. Drivers need to be held accountable. I've no idea how cars going YARDS over the line with all four tires is considered perfectly ok. Wtf?

It's fine, in the race running off the track continuously has a penalty in the sense the car will get damaged eventually.

This is Grosjeans opportunity to step up and show what he can do. I believe he will impress everyone... 8)
Generally I don't care about what people say. I have to be clear with myself. When everything goes well, people celebrate you, when you make mistakes people criticize you.

The best strategy for Grosjean is to get a good start, pit immediately and go prime-prime

I'm going to make a very bold prediction here...its a tough one:

I think Vettel will win
If someone said to me that you can have three wishes, my first would have been to get into racing, my second to be in Formula 1, my third to drive for Ferrari.

So in the race had you pass someone and surpass the white line with all 4 wheels you'll get a penalty, but if you constantly do this without passing a driver what's happen then?

Indian GP: Pirelli wants limited tyre running on safety grounds
Some interesting developments.....http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/24690717

Apparently the FIA will not sanction Pirelli's request.
