nope! you'll have to think a bit deeper.

3 hints; *1 extra

1. the team itself carried a different name then the respective team ownership's name.
2. a chassis this team used in F1 also ran [albeit slightly modified] in the Indy500.
3. one of the team's founders is a very famous person, aswell as the other one whom and still lives today.

* extra: one of their former drivers is a f1 racing legend and his legend still lives on today.

Re: F1 Quiz Chain

nope, but there was a person called mclaren involved. getting closer and closer. yearwise also very close, era correct.

another hint:

the road car offered was a special edition branded under their umbrella - but wasn't their own product.
you could compare it to AMG offering a special version of Mercedes SLS.

giving wayyyy to much hints now. all the info is there.

Re: F1 Quiz Chain

nope! but a famous man involved with the GT40 was also involved with this team.

and remember, it's about the actual team, not the car they offered, but i'd enjoy somebody actually naming the car.

final hint;

the model offered competed in a racing series wearing a dark blue color, it had a [very powerful] V8.

already known:

era around 1969. founded by 2 famous motorsport figures. one of them actually competed in the blue car, and is still alive to this day. the other one was a legend and is no longer amongst us, but wasn't actually Mclaren. Bruce was actually one of the racing drivers for the team. The ownership/umbrella of the team carries a different name then the actual team itself. A chassis of one of the contenders was raced both in F1 as in the Indy500 [albeit with modified suspension]. As it was mandatory, the team offered a road car version of the car that ran in another racing series with V8 engines [neither F1 neither Indy], and these cars are now extremely valuable collector cars.

It's a hard one, i'll give it that. But there's really only one team left that fits this profile. All the info is there now!

F1 team is Cooper? their racedriver also compete in 1968 British Hillclimb Championship in a Cooper T81B F1 chassis which he had fitted with a 7.2l Chrysler V8 engine, taking one win and four 2nd

Stirling Moss is still living racing legend. Bruce raced in that team. And also they play with F1 and indy mods.

Comercial model and famouse colector car could be Shelby Cobra?
The 1961 Cooper Monaco also served as the basis
for Shebly's King Cobras albeit with larger American V8 engines.

I read that, too. But there was no homologated road car that became a collectable. I tried getting Mirage and Chevron to fit the bill as well. Lotus? Matra? Whatever....

All American Racers?
The car is Eagle T1, which ran with a Ford V8.
Founded by Dan Gurney, who raced and is the one still alive, and Carroll Shelby.
They ran under the name Anglo American in F1
Ran in 1966 at the Indy 500

Is the AAR Cuda the homologated car? It ran in the 1970 Trans-Am Series. BTW, they ran a V8 in Formula 1. Rounds 10-12, 1968. Driven by Dan Gurney.
