Honda trying to woo Brawn

Interesting stuff.

It would suprise me if Brawn does not return to Ferrari.

Certainly seems like a perfect candidate to bring Honda out the doldrums. But what are the chances that he joins? Your thoughts...

I dont think this can ever happen, Brawn cant/shouldnt do this, but at the same time, it would be really great if he needs a new challenge and is willing to work that much

There is no reason at all why he shouldn't. he's on an F1 sabatical, not a Ferrari sabatical. Brawn can and should go to any team he wants and not be tied down by previous employers.

Honda and toyota is hurting bad. both with so much money invested in their respectives team. Brawn to honda will be like gascyone to toyota its a big gamble. What honda needs is to get brawn and maybe some of his existing staff from ferrari. 1 man cant do miracles..
wat bout the spyker/shumy/brawn rumour.. gone away so soon.. hehe

Brawn to Honda / Gascoyne to Toyota: IMHO both entirely different situations. Gascoyne was always going to put a few noses out of joint; and with that happening in a place like Toyota, the outcome was pretty plain to see.

Brawn is an entirely different animal (no less competetive); I would expect he would be able to work the team and the heirachy to the benefit of all.

Going to Honda? Well, you can see why Honda would want it. For Brawn, with the right amount of control in his hands it could be just the sort of challenge that would get his interest back in F1. What I don't see is where's the magic button? (no pun intended :D) When he was lured to Ferrari, the offer came with Todt, Byrne and probably the best driver in the world on board.

He's just as likely to end up at Red Bull........;)

You mean in Horner's role, right? Newey and Brawn in one team :shock: :lol:

I would like to take this back, coz after thinking about this for a while, I think it could actually be the right sort of challenge for Ross to re-enter F1. He's just about 52, he can easily go on for another 10-12 years (Ron Dennis is about 65) So I actually now think it will be nice to have Ross in a team like Honda, but at the same time, I think Hnda needs a change of leadership and Ross should be the team principal and not the technical director.

Ross Brawn to Honda would be good news for F1 if he came in and turned the team around and give Jenson a go at the world championship (when can he start)

Yeah i feel sorry for Button. I was looking through my 2000 Formula One annual, and it seems crazy that its been 7 years since Button's debut.

Hes super talented, but just not been surrounded by the right kind of people to extract his talent to the fullest potential.

As he said himself, if he was in a Mclaren or a Ferrari im pretty sure he'd be right up there fighting with Kimi and Alonso. We've just never had an oppurtunity to see whether this is true or not.

As Jacques Villeneuve says Jenson is every bit as quick as Kimi and given the right car and enviroment we would see if he is as quick as Fernando but will the Japanese follow the european work practices that Ross would put into place or would they be like toyota and do things there own way .

I think Ferrari have shown that they will be fine without Brawn and Schumacher. So what does Ross have to prove by returning?

Honda has a budget that will outflank Ferrari now (remember, Ferrari spent a ton last year) and Button can challenge the frontrunners given machinery. Barrichello isn't exactly slow, either. And he and Brawn aren't exactly strangers.

So, it would put Ross home in England with a great driver lineup and a team with excellent resources. And add one more team to the fight for the podium.

But as for Whiplash's question of how Honda may handle the work ethic question, Button's plea to not sack anyone due to the bad start of the season answers that.

Anyway, I'd like to see Brawn at Honda or Williams.
