Electronic brake control in 2014

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

ABS would be useless. If they block wheel they block front tires...
Maybe there is option that they can harvest energy from Engine into the battery while accelerating to prevent slipping wheels (reduce power)

ABS is a natural result of the fly by wire system as is traction limiting, if you design it right.

My point is, that it would be useless as ABS, but could be used as TC.

Would it be possible to have a system where the driver is in direct control of the MGU-K while braking?

The brake line is connected to the rear brake calipers and a clutch system for the MGU-K. As the driver presses the brake pedal the clutches are forced together which allows the MGU-K to spin up. At saturation (governed by the driver selected setting), valving in the brake lines begin to transmit pressure to the rear calipers.

the mgu must be permanently attached to the crankshaft so if they use a clutch it would be the main clutch,
they can vary the harvesting electronically it's all done by a computer, mixing the rear brakes and the mgu harvesting via the mgu controller and the rear brake control valve

ABS and Traction limiting by another name.
