Sainz Jr win 3/7 World Series 3.5 races

Post

Hi all,

My brother once told me he saw him at his father´s karting and he was not impressed, but he was a child and who knows if he was just cruising around...

Lately it looks like he´s made a step forward, he´s the solid leader of the category (almost 50% more points than the second one) and I think it´s pretty clear he will replace Vergne next seasson

I´ve never see him racing. Any of you watch this category regulary? What do you think about him?

Also, is DAMS really that good? I mean, there´re big differences between teams?

I don't know what to think of him

He never impressed me in British F3 or the races of GP3 that I saw.

He was mighty in Hungary's Saturday race of last year(a wet race where he was much faster than everybody else)

On a dry track, he only started to show speed this year, on this junior series.

But I heard Red Bull got really impressed with him when he tested with them last year in Silverstone

He is not as impressive as some people hype him up to be.

Sainz Jr is benefiting from DAMS and also the weak field or rookies this year in WSR 3.5. Sainz Jr is not as talented as Vandoorne, Frijns, Magnussen or Kyvat. He did GP3 last year same car/team as Kvyat and didn't win a single race. I don't see Red Bull promoting him soon, even Felix Da Costa has a better record and he was booted off. Vergne and Kyvat both have far more impressive junior formula records.

Red Bull have Pierre Gasly and Lynn on the roster also and they both have impressed more then Sainz in my eyes particularly Alex Lynn. Sainz Jr is on the Roster because of his link to CESPA big sponsor for Torro Rosso. Politics and money and F1 its getting boring.....

Dude, whatever. On his day, Sainz jr is blindingly quick. You don't have to like him, but to write that much, just to slag him off, kinda says something about you more than him.

There's actually only setup differences. In WSR they're not even allowed to preb the car better(better bearings, fluids etc) than the next team. Dams just has a very good understanding of how to work this car, but other tams are just as good.

Here we are discussing junior formula performances yet Kobayashi was never all that great before he drove the Toyota. When he did drive that he was arguably pretty impressive. Hard to judge this season but he has deserved his place in F1.

If RBR were impressed Sainz Jnr in an F1 car then we have no reason to doubt. After all, F1 is a completely different sport.

I had extremely high hopes for JEV based on previous results but he has failed to impress on a regular enough period. I think Sainz deserves a shot...

Actually I think Frijns deserves a shot but I doubt it will happen unfortunately.
