OMG. I just saw the video... ..... the speed he carried...

:(
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

How much speed can you actually carry trough that corner in WET condition? I would say no more than 150 kph. But this looks like it was much faster

someone posted a video showing Bianchi going around the track on telemetry, it showed gears and speed and the last recorded speed was 203km/h i think.

F1 cars are still insanely quick even on wet surfaces, a couple of gear flicks and part throttle and 200 clicks is easy peasy.

That looks weird, straight on, no spin or nothing. I´m not convinced that´s aquaplaning. It could easily been 2 more victims, thoose marshalls were really close. After some thoughts my verdict is that the safty car should been dispatched. 1. tow truck positioned in a really bad fast corner (outside) 2. conditions was slippery and sight bad, definitly a car should have dispatch

Not sure how long this video will still work but here it goes:

My advice... don't watch it. I somehow wish I hadn't...

I think he aquaplaned and got a major tank slapper, then he stabilized the car but locked his brakes so he was unable to slow down. That's probably why he came in straight on.

First and foremost: wow... i hope Jules gets okay again.

But guys, pay attention to the upper right corner. The marshall at the post in turn 7 first waves double yellow, then switches to green while they are still recovering Sutil's car, roughly 15 seconds before Bianchi crashed into the recovery vehicle. He even keeps on waving green after Bianchi crashed. Also, the marshall light at this post doesn't seem to work at all.

You can see the marshall posts in the official circuit map http://www.fia.com/championship/fia-for ... ircuit-map

That was extremely bad - I feel sick.

I hoped that he had gone in backwards and that all of the damage at the back was caused by the energy absorption.

Utterly insane crash, even if the crane had not been there, it looks like he would have somehow shot the gap.....

Here's the complete video, in high res for those that want to see; Gives a pretty good picture at where exactly it happened...

Am I seeing it correctly that he went pretty straight down the asphalt part there? Looks like he pretty much just went straight into the path of the tractor that was backing up in reverse slowly.......

I guess he must of spun before, then somehow got the car straightend and went straight off the track...

Oh-my-god.
It is a real miracle he is still alive. Look how the airbox is blown away.

Very old inters, 17 laps.

Another thing occured to me, in dry conditions asphalted run offs are safer, in the wet however they are much worst...

That's what i thought as well, first a 360 and then head straight...

Is he ? People don't crucify me for saying this, but watching the above posted vid frame by frame shows (i think) that the very first contact is made by the helmet... I'm now thinking whether there's been a cover up taking place since yesterday or not... It's very depressing... It's nothing short of amazing if the helmet and hans managed to keep him alive.
