Looks like they are going to turn up, 'check in' and just not bother to even turn the cars on. Very clever and averts any risk of forfeiting prize money.

The last minute deal administrators were working on has failed, so Marussia now won't be in Abu Dhabi.

The only team to offer actual assistance to get try to get the team there by using their trucks and loading equipment to get them to the dockside = Force India

It looks like it's all over now. An auction of the whole team's inventory and head quarters has been announced.

Crazy that no one wans to buy a F1 team that has a 40 million dollar check coming its way. Marussia was a really effective team with limited resources they extracted huge performance. Really sad to see them go.
Irvine:"If you don't have a good car you can't win it, unless you are Michael or Senna. Lots of guys won in Adrian Newey's cars, big deal. Adrian is the real genius out there, there is Senna, there is Michael and there is Newey. They were the three great talents."

Interesting to see the photo of the 2015 model there - nice to get an insight on what they had intended for their nose.

For me, the fact that the work of a great bunch of people that made up Marussia F1 Team is put up to sale like that is depressing.

I hope that a good buyer will come up and revive the team somehow.

Very surprisingly not much in terms of fabricating equipment facility (apart from a laser sintering machine and some basic machinery)there...it´s more about assembly and checking ....

Haas could make a quick start and buy the property and everything in it.

Since Haas F1 already owns this:

and Gene Haas owns this:

I think it would be a waste of money to buy anything there ;)

No, all items of interest at Marrusia are cheap to buy i.e. 2014 car, 2013 car, 2015 model, IP for the 4 cars etc.

All this would be a good starting point for a start rather than a blank slate.

They can take apart every component study the same, run the car on track with their improvements.

It would be a very good idea for Haas to buy the cars, IP and model if the price is right.

As is caterham the price of the team is going to be $1, but the buyer assumes the debts (which could be over $50 million) and needs to bring in next years budget of aleast $70 million.

Which makes the team $120 million and the $40 million FOM check is not a big enough attraction.

to the optimist a glass is half full ; to the pessimist a glass is half empty ; to the F1 engineer the glass is twice as big as it needs to be
