FIA suggestions

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

FIA suggestions

Post

hi,

I was thinking about what happened at Spa, with all those engines exploding in a few laps...
Maybe a good idea for the FIA, but when it's technically possible, wouldn't it be nice and usefull to light the rear light up when a problem occurs on a car. That way, at an explosion, other cars may see the problematic car sooner that before. I know you cannot see through 200 meters of smoke, but it might differ some 10m maybe, and since every meter is one useful for safety...

goods, bads?

idea

hmmm

shouldn't there be some kind of suggestion address of the FIA so that we can suggest items that may be good to formula one? :)

As this is, as far as I know, still not the case, then this thread can be declared as FIA suggestion thread.
Post here what you would like to see in Formula one, what solution to solve overtaking prob? ...

greets,
Tomba

I have a suggestion to increase overtaking.

I do not think the ballast ideas of bernie are really worth considering, but one thing that I think should be considered is the braking efficiency. I don't know for certain why CART cars can overtake more than in F1 (has to do with only limited number of chassis) but the decreasing the force of brakes in F1 might be a good solution.
Couldn't a smaller maximum brake disc diameter give a solution to decrease that, or would there be too much heat to realise that? :?:

Too bad the owner can't get a plus one.

Just get rid of the DRS... it's the only thing i don't like in F1. And all those types of tyres... it's just good for marketing.

The thread was restarted by a spambot but that post has been deleted.

go back to steel brakes.
They all have the same carbon on carbon brakes so every car has the same braking potential.
