Are those blue stickers strain gauges?

No they're temperature gauges. They change colour and indicate the temperature experienced by the component. They'll be checking temperature caused by the cooling airflow coming from the sidepods.

In the photos posted by Stefan we can see that the central manifold is covered of Skotch. They will surely change this part of the engine cover in Australia.

Air to air intercooling as with the customer teams in 2014...
Strange.. Didn't expect that for 2105. Air to air is more efficient but since there is no cooling reservior there can be momentary temperature swings in slow speed turns. It seems an interesting trade off against air to water intercooling.

Could the air to air unit be enough lighter to off set the temperature swing , as that is a good ways up from the floor?
