95-155 (weird measurement) in 3.2 seconds!

Thats quite a lot of clout!
Talking kilometres (for our non-UK/USA friends):

0-60mph in 2.7 seconds ------- 0-100km/h in 2.7 seconds (delta of 100km/h)
95-155mph in 3.2 seconds ---- Approx 150-250km/h in 3.2 seconds (delta of approx 100km/h)
0-186mph in 12 seconds ------ 0-300km/h in 12 seconds (delta of 300km/h)
0-250mph in 20 seconds ------ Approx 0-400km/h in 20 seconds (delta of 400km/h)

All stats above show that acceleration is between pretty steady (per 100km/h) from zero to top speed.

0 - 100 - 150 - 200 - 250 - 300 - 400

Impressive indeed!!

Isn't this just the same concept as a Prius but with a hydraulic transfer in stead of planetary gears?

Looks gorgeous inside and out. Can't wait to see some vids of it being driven in anger.

One day I'll own something like this... one day... [-o<

The engine decouples and charges the batteries from electric motor mounted to the crank.
160kw to charge a 9ish kwh battery will provide full charge under 4 mins, it needs much less just to get going.
Charging in 4 minutes would only be possible if battery accept 15C charging, and lithium batteries usually accept 2-3C as much

Anycase 160kw is not the charging power but the electric motor power (crank mounted one), the onboard charging power is 3kw

Definitely the best looking Koenigsegg i've ever seen, it looks very similar to the other models but just angrier.

Some stats...
5.0L Twin Turbo V8 making 610kW (820hp) - 8250 RPM Redline
3 electric motors - 2 x 180kw (2 x 241hp) on the rear end and 1 x 160kw (215hp) on the crankshaft
Hydraulic coupling (torque converter) linking the engine to the direct drive rear end
2.85:1 direct drive
Kerb weight: 1,628kg

Full EV mode below 30mph (48km/h)
EV Mode range is 22 miles (35km) - However there are claims that up to 50km may be achievable...

Brakes
Front: 397mm ceramic discs and six-piston calipers
Rear: 380mm ceramic discs and four-piston calipers

Front tyres: 275/35ZR19
Rear tyres: 345/30ZR20 (445.19 Revs/km)

Knowing the tyre size allows calculation of engine speed:

12mph or 20km/h = EV Mode (423 RPM)
25mph or 40km/h = EV Mode (846 RPM)
30mph or 48km/h = 1015 RPM
31mph or 50km/h = 1057 RPM
37mph or 60km/h = 1269 RPM
50mph or 80km/h = 1692 RPM
62mph or 100km/h = 2115 RPM
93mph or 150km/h = 3172 RPM
124mph or 200km/h = 4229 RPM
155mph or 250km/h = 5287 RPM
186mph or 300km/h = 6344 RPM
242mph or 390km/h = 8250 RPM (Redline)

Claimed top speed (doesn't really match redline...)
248.5mph or 400.0km/h = 8459 RPM
249.0mph or 400.7km/h = 8474 RPM

Acceleration below 100-150km/h must rely heavily on the EV system.
(Apparently ICE doesn't really start to really sing until 2500RPM).

Great concept, drop the heavy 7 speed DSG for batteries and electric motors...

awesome and innovative concept. I wonder how well the torque vectoring and/or limited-slip aspects will work?

Would love to see the power curve for the engine. 820 hp for the engine oppose to the ~1100-1300 hp the engine is capable of in other guises probably means they've focused on low end power quite a bit. I do worry about what happens if the battery starts getting low and there isn't sufficient scope for brake regen. I wonder if future versions will have some sort of exhaust harvesting 919 style to make sure you aren't literally stuck somewhere.

The electric machine connected to the crankshaft can operate as a generator and generate electricity with power from the engine so keeping the battery charged won't be a problem.

Drive are doing another inside Koenigsegg series, this time of the Regera. Bare in mind that the footage is quite a few months old now and some of the car specifications have change (the battery pack is now a 4.5kWhr unit).

Also according to Koeningsegg, the battery pack can prive a 525kW discharge rate and a 200kW charge rate.

Geneva 2016 - Interview with Christian states:

-only road car with F1 grade cells
-4.5kWhr for 520kw
-only 90kgs!

Christian goes on to say other electric road cars (I believe he's hinting at Tesla) need 600kgs of batteries to draw 500kw's...

That´s a fairly irrelevant data, as high discharge rates only cause severely decreased mileage.

On RC planes or drones it is very fun to discharge a battery in 3 minutes (20C discharge) as you fly hard then land and switch the battery to repeat, but on a car discharging the battery that fast might be a problem :P

Pretty sure 90kgs vs 600kgs isnt irrelevant in hypercars...

but hey what does Christian Von Koenigsegg know!

I wouldn´t expect any hiper car to provide great acceleration for 1-2 minutes, then becoming drastically slower until batteries are recharged again.

It´s great as an advertising, to promote some interesting numbers thanks to that light and powerfull battery, but if it cannot provide that power for more than 1-2 minutes sincerely to me that´s just an advertising gimmick.

Why are you assuming the batteries take long to recharge?
