Why did he open the DRS when he was trying to get the temp in the tires up?

Agreed, the are so many variables in getting the fastest lap that focusing solely on it, is a fools errand.
Mercedes didn't even register in the top 7 speed traps yet still got the outright fastest lap time in FP1.

Yes, it's free practice. The sword cuts both ways when extrapolating any data.
That's sure true, however there are looooong straights and it will be good to be able to defend the pace here...

If there's any truth and Vettel gets a grid penalty then that pretty much spoils any chance of the Ferrari's having a race with the Mercs, can't see Raikonnen beating the other Merc powered teams in qualifying. :roll:

Nasr probably will spoken for years to come for that stupid move. I hope he manages to do something worthwhile in F1 before his career ends. That's a terrible mistake to be played down :(
