According to Andrew Benson teams have been told that minimum tyre pressures will be raised for this weekendKeiKo403 wrote:Speaking of Arrivabene vs Hembery I don't think it'll amout to much. I thought I read a tweet somewhere though which said Pirelli are forcing through some regulations about pressure & camber settings from this weekend. Is that true?
If it is then I hope the media and TP's (or reps) go absolutly crazy!
Thought they only have 4 for the entire season though anyway?F1NAC wrote:Wow mercedes... amazing. Half a season with 2 PU..... jesus. From whereis that info that merc is using all tokens for monza?
Yea but the other three engine suppliers aren't pulling it off...SiLo wrote:Thought they only have 4 for the entire season though anyway?F1NAC wrote:Wow mercedes... amazing. Half a season with 2 PU..... jesus. From whereis that info that merc is using all tokens for monza?
Strange how it all balances out though. Taking ICE aloneF1NAC wrote:Wow mercedes... amazing. Half a season with 2 PU..... jesus. From whereis that info that merc is using all tokens for monza?
"Mercedes to use all remaining 7 tokens for Monza engine. The Petronas fuel will also be upgraded." From Tobias Grüner's Twitter.F1NAC wrote:Wow mercedes... amazing. Half a season with 2 PU..... jesus. From whereis that info that merc is using all tokens for monza?
According to statements by Mercedes' employees the upgrade is a strategic engagement with a view toward 2016. The engineers modified the engine in areas that they are no longer allowed to touch over the winter and made him fit for a new fuel that is present Petronas in Monza ,"This opens up new directions of development for the future," said a spokesman. Voerst only Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg will drive the experimental engine. The Mercedes customers get fresh engines, but from the old specification. Whether they come later in the enjoyment of the experimental units, is still unclear.
It's here too: http://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/merce ... italian-gp Will they be 2 s quicker in Qferkan wrote:According to Italian press Mercedes is using all 7 tokens at Monza, while Ferrari is using 3.
Now imagine Williams or McLaren (had they stayed with Merc) challenging Mercedes for titles. That's why all the big teams including Red Bull (until they got inferior one) loved those changes. How was it, all engines are identical and homologated, what's the point in running different specification engines? I guess there is a point. Now Ferrari is supposedly trying to sell RB their engines but this time A spec. So Sauber gets B spec."The changes are limited to the main works team for now, although it is possible that customers Williams, Lotus and Force India may have access to the developments later in the campaign."
Which is all very interesting. For Mercedes, there is no special engine for Monza this weekend, instead the team is exploring a new development direction with consideration towards the future rather than looking for a huge performance leap.
Asked about the upgrade, Hamilton said: "It's mostly [about] reliability, it's fuel, an improvement in the efficiency.
"We're not here to make a huge step. It's about improving reliability so we can push the engine more.
Higher efficiency = more power = better performancef1316 wrote:http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/120601
