Williams' Valtteri Bottas has called upon his Williams team to fight back strongly in 2016 following a very poor ending of the season where pace and team organisation were not up to expectations.

They had double deck diffusers in 2009 and the RedBull was the class of the field by seasons end.

In 2009 Redbull didnot have double decker diffusers nor wider front tyre; only Brawn,Williams & Toyota had only others couldn't engineer it on the exisitng cars. Redbull had tight rear, pull rod and high chassis height.
"It was a huge amount of work as the car (RB5) wasn't designed to work with a double diffuser and, in particular, it wasn't an easy marriage with the pull rod rear suspension," explained Red Bull chief technical officer Newey. "We decided we didn't have the resources to redesign the gearbox and rear suspension to better suit the double diffuser concept, so we kept the existing mechanical package and adapted as best we could; the first attempt was our Monaco package, which was a small step that didn't work as well as we would have liked. The second step was then introduced for the British Grand Prix."
AMUS report that FIA asked Merc PU used by Hamilton in Austin and Ferrari PU used by Vettel in Singapore do disassemble them and check if they are legal.

is this a standard thing they do throughout the year to all teams? Obviously they can't check the entire engine each weekend because that would be a total ball ache.
Interesting. I guess the hype can begin to ask if that performance gap that Mercedes has is down to something illegal in the engine.
For the good of the sport, I hope nothing is found. That would seriously put a strain on F1 as a sport. Think of all the drama.
Anyway - Abu Dhabi. Looking forward to this one. Will be very interesting to see Hamilton/Rosberg going for it. For Rosberg, it would be quite a coupe to beat Hamilton, not only because he already beat him in qualifying the last couple of races, but also because he's had the upper hand. That would be quite a way to end the season despite not winning the WDC. Might give him some confidence in regards to 2016. For Hamilton, it would be good to win a race again, one that is among his strong tracks.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II #Team44 supporter
It's nothing more than a routine check to ensure that the tokens have been used in the way they told the FIA. I've no idea why it's suddenly made a news story, this happens throughout the season. And if there was something wrong, they would check all Merc/Ferrari power units for the same issue for the sake of fairness. No idea why Lewis loosing the WDC has been singled out.
i guess the whole "might lewis lose his title" Thing is just an eye catcher to get klicks. nobody reads storys about a Routine engine check. i'm 100% sure there's nothing more to it.

I think you nailed it with that.
If they would find it illegal and would take his Championship away, that would hurt the sport even more. They can't risk losing even more fans over this.
