Well it's only been one race over, everything are still rapidly changing. But Haas is so strong for a new team to F1. This is surprising to know

Didn't Merc have tire wear trouble hear last year?
I don't think so, it was a missed opportunity by Ferrari, maybe not for a win but some pressure, one of the best tracks last season on pace
- Hamilton had no troubles
- Rosberg had qualifying, brake and strategy that put him behind Vettel two times troubles
- Ferrari had drivers and Rosberg overtaking them 5 times troubles

Tyre difference is interesting and the first thought is strategy but maybe they need to work on them more? Ferrari taking a lot of mediums is more surprising.
You have to remember that the FIA sets aside one set of softs and one set of mediums for the race so each team is gauranteed that...teams would just have to save one set of whatever compound they decide to run the 2nd and third stints on.

Ferrari says the reason they didn't put Seb on mediums during Australia was they simply didn't know enough about its characteristics to trust them to deliver the desired outcome.

Because of this, I am expecting to see Ferrari using their mediums heavily during practice, and reply on the S and SS during the race--but one set of fresh mediums will be set aside to support mid-race strategy changes.

I believe the Mercedes is going do the same, but since they know the mediums, they don't need any test sets for FP, just the one set for possible race use.

Once again, Ferrari would be unable to show their true pace, as the farce set to continue.

Because rather than burn through all their SS tires they want to save a set for the race, which is moronic because the SS is not a good race tire, it has no business being on the car for more than 14 laps, and that's pushing it.

In this crude drawing you see how my misinformed mind has categorized the performance of each tire. I used black for the medium tire because my background is white, and used the corresponding colors for the other tyres.

Thinking of some alternative strategies, considering overtaking isn't too difficult on this track.

For those qualifying outside the top 8:
S-S-M
SS-SS-SS-S
M-S-SS

Given the rapid drop-off in the SS, someone who can switch-on the medium at the start would be in a pretty good position later in the race.

So this is a real track and Ferrari split the Mercs in qualifying and were 4 tenths slower Vettel to Hamilton on the soft tire... lets see what happens this year on the SS

Anyway getting back on topic.
Mercedes will not be let off easy this time.
Again they will cock up the start but this time Ferrari will not make a strategy mistake.
One Merc will retire from the race.

Looking forward to all the GPRA calculations showing Merc should have / could have won the race, but they never showed their pace, kept those 2sec per lap back by carrying bags of sand. Why?

Exactly!...Because Mercedes has never cared about learning from their mistakes...and we all know they have severe reliability problems. Sure they ran the equivalent of a full season's worth of race distances during winter testing...with hardly a burp....but really, what does that prove?
