i predict ultra-dominant Mercedes esspecially Hamilton....thats it
Same... Almighty Mercedes and one of Hamilton's favorite tracks. Don't see anything other than Hamilton winning this.
i agree...i think come Q3 the redbull will be close to Vettel and Rosberg.
I seriously dont think they will be....more than likely 2 mercs followed by 2 Ferraris then red bull/williams

Kimi did nothing so far to support this claim.

Hard High working range 105-135°
Medium Low working range 90-120°
Soft high High working range 100-125°
Supersoft Low working range 85-115°
Ultrasoft Low working range 85-115°
If these are correct, then the Ultras should be better, as they have the same working range and heat up faster.....
I´ve just posted this in Monaco GP before realicing it is yourself who post it

So I was not so wrong after all...

Just looking at the times before I go and watch the sessions I recorded but I wouldn't buy too much into the Red Bulls being 1 second off Hamilton. For a start they have a new engine for Verstappen and a new front wing for both of them and it looks very much like it was a true practice session for them to dissect how to get the most out of these new items. Do you really think the Red Bull is only 0.1 second faster then a Mclaren.

Lets wait till tomorrow to see the true pace.

My best guess is that their 5 tenths prediction is overblown as is per norm with Renault....
So everybody else was going flat out and just red bull was testing their engine and new aero bits... ya ok sure... Ferrari and merc have new aero bits too along with a new turbo and compressor for vettel, they didnt bother testing those?
So when teams were doing their qualy sims and red bull put on the ultra softs did one warm up lap one timed lap then went back to the pits that was dissecting the new engine and aero?
Look i doubt any team has their engine turned up.... im just pointing out how wrong your excuse for red bull is

Dan is saying they didn't use their qualification mode and expects them to "gain a big chunk" of time.

I do expect them to be closer to Ferrari as I have a feeling they were running lighter than Merc. Though I doubt they'll beat Seb in quali.

Nobody used their qualifying mode so he is basically saying nothing....
He is getting real close to doing entirely too much talking IMHO

Ricciardo:
"hopefully we can gain a big chunk – hopefully it will put us closer to Ferrari but let's see."
"With what we had today I don't think it was possible but I believe we will do some good work tonight and that will give us a chance to fight again with them tomorrow.
"They look a bit better pace wise," he said. "We still need to do some work, everybody wants to improve."
SMH i guess they had better get to work then all that hoping and believing must count for something lol

We know for a fact all mercedes powered teams have tons in reserve on the power unit side. This has always been the case for the last few years. STRAT 1 simply too OP.

Rosberg better ups his pace if he wants to keep his lead in the wdc in tact.

Vettel:
Sebastian Vettel said his Ferrari’s new suspension and turbo revisions “gave us what we expected” after lapping within 0.257s of Lewis Hamilton’s Mercedes around Montreal’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve
After today’s practice, Vettel said: “Overall the car seems to work, there’s nothing wrong – all the bits that we brought seem to give us what we expected. That’s good news from today.
There are some things we need to improve, we need to work on.
I guess Ferrari will be working to improve too... just putting Ricciardos comments into perspective.

Don't you worry giantfan10, Red Bull are a second a lap down on Ferrari on race pace, if the long runs today are anything to go by. You can allow RIC to have his qualifying prize. You can take him at the first corner, and he won't see which way Ferrari went after that!

This is good info, thanks. I have never come across the actual temp ranges.

What I don´t understand is the reason medium tires don´t continue the trend, any reason they work at lower temp than both softs and hards?

The medium is supposed to be the most versatile tire of the range. With the best balance between grip durability and working range.
