Engine Usage in 2007

All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

Engine Usage in 2007

Post

Sorry, I've been waiting for two hours for my family to be ready for some Christmas shopping... :)

Sorry also for the "graphic overkill" but two hours is a lot... All data comes from Forix.

So BMW had the best reliability along with the most power. If their chassis program continues like it has, they should make a big noise in '08. Here's hoping they do.

How do you know that the BMW made more power than the other engines.

Maybe this is the start of an answer to megz question:

Both series are ordered first by engine manufacturer and then by "cars" (in the sense of a NASCAR car, i.e. the "car" of Schumi in 2006 is driven in 2007 by Raikkönen). Colours are by engine manufacturer.

The car's Aero set up seems to make quite a difference and the Renault dropped of quite a bit. Still looks like the Ferrari's and Merc's go better than the BMW's.

No, there was some mid-season thread here where someone compared this-and-that which stated the Bimmer had the most hp. And it's not worth arguing so I am not even going to try to look it up. It's all just conjecture here anyway. Either way, I think they have the power to run the front with some further developement on chassis/aero as I stated before. And unlike Toyota, they seem to know how to get their monies' worth out of their development. I think/hope they will break out in '08 like Renault did in '05--granted, Ferrari had a --- year, but with the FIA looking so close at McLaren, I think we can count them out next year. Heidfeld is certainly capable and Kubica is not bad himself.

What the hell, I'm a Williams fan anyway.

Its amazing to see how 2007 engines, although limited to 19K RPM (unlike 2006) could reach an average 5-10 KM more. That means better aero, better engine, better everything.
