Re: Haas VF17 Speculation Thread

Haas team boss Guenther Steiner has confirmed the team's car has passed all of its crash tests ahead of the 2017 season.

Haas will enter their second year of racing in Formula One, after a relatively successful debut season in 2016 scoring 29 points. The team worked on the 2017 car alongside the 2016 one last year in preparation for the regulation overhaul.

"We did our chassis crash test this week and we passed that one, so we are pretty on schedule," Steiner told ESPN.

"That's always a pretty good marker, a big goalpost, if you make that the rest should fall into place. Every year it is the same for everybody -- you're always last minute but you figure out how to get over that one."

Despite having more time to develop the car as pre-season testing starts at the end of February and race one at Australia starts on March 26 (one week later than 2016), Steiner says that does not ease the pressure of building a competitive car.

The season starts a bit later but that doesn't do anything for building a car because you release the car later as well. But we we learned a lot last year [about the process]. You learn every day."

But gray of a darker tone, not metallic either.

Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

That is most probably for operating DRS. In KERS days Ferrari used to have one on each side of the wheel, one was used to activate KERS and other one for DRS

On this picture you can see two labels at the top corners of the wheel. On the left side is white circle with red "RF" (Rear Flap) and on the right is yellow circle with red "K" (KERS).

Those are labels for two switches on the back. Both switches can be seen on this photo, though just a tip of RF switch is visible

Magnussen getting his seat fitted. Airbox does not appear to be split like the 2016 one

They are actually extra shifter paddles used in corners. Surprised to hear that.

I saw that yeah. I just gave an example of what Ferrari used to have them do in older cars
