Currently drive a 2015 BMW 120D M-sport. 8-speed sport auto with paddles, 190 horses and 400 something newton.
Absolutely no grip due to my Nokian Hakka 8´s which are runflats and studded so on normal tarmac it´s like driving on ice.

Can´t wait to put on my summer tires April 1st. [-o<

I have winter tires underneath my 1 series at the moment and it's almost 10 degrees celsius outside. Too hot to make those tires work. So literally sliding everywhere on a mildly moist surface. No grip at all.

I dont have a particularly long or glorious Car history as I tend to keep my cars for a long time:

1/ '74 Toyota Corolla 4 door sedan w/ Jap Spec 1.3ltr 4cyl engine (replacing stock 1.1ltr), 4 speed manual - My Teenager car

2/ '88 Ford Telstar GL Sedan w/ 2.0ltr 4cyl & 5 Speed manual (Basically a mazda 626 made in Sydney by Ford)

First New car:
3/ Late '02 Mazda 323 Astina 1.8ltr 4cly & 5 speed manual - brilliant car, handles great especially with Pirelli P1 tires fitted! I Still have it and mainly drive it to the railway station and back.

Current Family Car:
4/ MY10 Series 2 Mazda 6 Wagon Touring 2.5ltr 4cyl & 5 speed auto - This is the Family car and the big torquey motor and great chassis make it a great drive, we've got about 150k on the clock thanks to regular family trips from Melbourne to Adelaide to see our families at xmas etc.

Im a big fan of Mazda's, here in Australia their Service is universally excellent, servicing costs are much much lower than the European brands (which are beyond a joke!) and they are really well tuned for Australian roads with great handling and are equipped with nice petrol engines and decent gearboxes (eg no rubbish cable clutches or gear shift linkages).

PS, I've driven loads of more interesting cars but not worth trying to list them all here.

You know you're allowed to keep a car for longer than a week or two after you buy it, right?
I hardly bought any of them, they were usually test cars being evaluated or worked on for noise and vibration, or ride, or falling over, or things like that. A fair few of them I have worked on, and some are in production with 'my' fixes on them.

Here's some more: Mustang, F150, F250
Captiva
Toyota 86
Original Taurus. Blobby Taurus. Fusion.

Explorer?

In keeping with the thread, I drive a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 with 250,000 miles and without heat. Prior to that, I drove a 1991 Ford Ranger with 175,000 miles and without air conditioning.

I also tend to fear change.

This is a hilarious thread...

I'd rather not do a Greg L, & list all the 'common or garden' appliance cars I've used as work machines,
- but I have driven a few stand-outs that were in for service when I was helping out my bro-in-law, in his
auto-electrical business, - some tasty near new units were brought in for chipping/air-box/exhaust de-corking,
& were a bit of fun, once the electronic defeats were dealt with...

Things like Commodore V8s, Falcon V8/turbo-6's & turbo imports from Japan ( Nissan Skylines/Toyota Supras),
plus the homologation Evo/WRX stuff..

Old school luxury performance impressed with effortless drive too, from V12 Jags & V8 Porsche/BMW/M-B/Audis...

Hot rods with low weight, high power & little finesse make an interesting contrast with that lot, to be sure..

Never-the-less, I owned & drove an ancient classic Chrysler Charger for many years, only replacing it
with an equally rare, but better equipped, M-B 300 E-24 coupe, when I got an excellent offer for the Charger...

Of course, I have enjoyed riding/owning high-performance motorcycles before/during the driving of such cars,
so naturally, I aint that easily impressed by what road cars can do...
"Well, we knocked the bastard off!"

Ed Hilary on being 1st to top Mt Everest,
(& 1st to do a surface traverse across Antarctica,
in good Kiwi style - riding a Massey Ferguson farm
tractor - with a few extemporised mod's to hack the task).
