So the setting is beautiful, but what really is going to make me think is this:

Cars are wider this year. :?

Well last year it was predicted that there would be chaos at that section of the track. There wasn't. So perhaps it won't be too much of a problem

Well, personally, I think Hamilton could be quite fast here. Last year he was very very fast right up until qualifying if I recall correctly. It will be interesting to see how the Mercedes behaves on this track. Ferrari will probably be very strong as usual....
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Williams will have Pampers as Sponsor for Baku.
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

So basically S1 is a total of four 90 degrees corners in sequence
S3 is all but a straight, with 4 corners that you actually pass them flat out easily
Only S2 seems to me technical and interesting.

3 of the right handers are so blind that drivers kept going straight into the run off areas last year. Hope the references has improved this year

I have to be honest, but i don't like this "track" at all.
Maybe scrap this race in favour for a nice track in France or a second race in Italy ....
And also cal it the European GP?

I do like F1 cars so i will watch. It should be happy hunting for Mercedes.

Shame that the lap chart on opening post is only going to lap 37

Ah, didn't notice that. I removed it. Unfortunately there's no lap chart with the full distance. They're pretty inconsistent with publishing these things on their twitter feed.

Exactly, it's slow and no one's overtaking there, same for other tight places, everyone's waiting for the huge straight, plus Perez risking there was one of the highlights of the race, driver making (visibly) a difference.

According to F1 bosses race in the country with no great racing tradition, unlike traditions of Bahrain or Abu Dhabi, typically selective approach to the world ;-).

In the race 13, 18, and 19 had a small lift, this year those corners should have no lifting at all.

This year it is Azerbaijan GP. Not that it matters but European GP had hosted great races&tracks (except Valencia, still much more interesting track than Baku)
