All that has to do with the power train, gearbox, clutch, fuels and lubricants, etc. Generally the mechanical side of Formula One.

So - here's just one such study example - from a couple of decades ago..
It was done by Garrett for NASA - as a high-efficiency, alternative to gas turbine - 'helo' mill..

Reckoned to be good for ~1000hp from ~2.2 litres, (& at very modest rpm)..

Quite partial to a twin turbo 3.5 litre V10 with an 8 speed box myself.

How about a turbine powered hydraulic awd car? Like Silent Sam from Indy?
