Microsoft mail issues

Post

Given a mailing block imposed by Microsoft, notification mails, user activation mails and whatever other mails sent from f1technical are rejected on all microsoft email addresses (incl hotmail.com and outlook.com)

I'm trying to get this resolved, but please be advised that this is the reason if you no longer get mails right now.

Steven, kindly advise.. do you still receive them - if/when - sent in via M-soft, to F1-TF, by a member?
& does it apply to the personal message system, too?

All mails sent by the website do not end up at microsoft email boxes at the moment.
That includes notification mails for new PMs, notifications for new posts in subscribed topics, etc etc.

First evidence provided by MS shows too many recipients have reported our mails as spam/junk.
I've asked for specific email information, because AFAIK, all our mails include a link to unsubscribe.

Needless to say, it's extremely frustrating :(

It is my understanding that this type of issue can be caused by your web hosting provider having a not-so-great reputation. Perhaps they sell space to other websites that send lots of spam. Or perhaps the hosting provider itself acts as a relay for spam. It's frustrating. It's too easy to end up on a blacklist and it's too hard to be removed from one.

Thanks for the suggestions.
However, f1technical is hosted on its own server, with its own dedicated IP.

Microsoft have confirmed they blocked us as they got too many spam/junk notices from recipients.
Seems like people are just too lazy to unsubscribe, and prefer hitting the junk button.

It's pretty clear that we send no emails whatsoever, unless they are members, or they are on the newsletter list (but there has not been a recent newsletter).

Sometimes on some blacklists whole ranges of IPs can be blocked, specifically to catch separate dedicated IP servers in the process.

... and we're unblocked again.

Still unsure what is wrong, and on what basis they decide to unblock.
