I think honda wouldnt introduce spec 4 here unless current engine is damaged. They will turn on the qualy mode in the race for full time, and deactive it with OT button. As same as last year.

I would have introduced it as soon as possible. I'd take the penalties in Japan, better to start last with a faster car than 14th with a slower one.

People, let's stay on topic. Discussions about Toro Rosso should be discussed in the Toro Rosso team thread. I'll move those posts this evening.

When Hasegawa asked what had happened at the stop of Fernando Alonso, which was slower than usual and made him lose positions, the response he received was one more reproach. "We've had so many engine problems that we can not even train the wheel changes," they released.
hahaha is the dumbest excuse I read

I do hope this is not true, it would be pathetic if they have reached such a level of stupidity and childish attitude. #-o

SEPANG Lap data
Lap length 5.543km (3.444 miles)
Full throttle 45%
Longest flat-out section 1029m
Downforce level High
Gear changes per lap 40

SAZUKA Lap data
Lap length 5.807km (3.608 miles)
Full throttle 66%
Longest flat-out section 994m
Downforce level High
Gear changes per lap 48

Almost 50% more full throttle time at Suzuka. That's what Really hurts the Honda PU.
Unless some good updates are introduced I see both cars out of Q3, or at least one. 2 Ferraris+2 Mercedes+2 RB+ 1 or 2 FI+1 Hulk, being positive there could be one place for them.

McLaren really need to train pitstops, because they haven't had one car in the top 10 for the last 5 races. It's not going to win you races at the moment, but a pitstop around 4 seconds is simply not acceptable.

So they can be 10th or 9th and 10th. I think they'll made more aggressive settings for qual. This can give them beating two FI or Hulk

Exactly. Alonso has lost a few points( single digits of course) because of shitty pitstops and strategy.

Equally it is not a serious problem, with a little extra training, which can make good pitstop.

But it hasn't been solved in years.

Work for hours may be for 0.1 sec per lap , spend money and time then lost 1.5 -2 sec just with one stop where is the logic

McLaren see themselves as a big team, so even if your chassis or engine isn't that good, you should be at least capable of doing good stops.

Pit stops are the least of their worries at the moment. The crew aren't at the highest level of motivation but might get better next year as the results improve.

I remember that first Alo years of McLaren. they have company rules which decide Fernando and ham's haircut. I remember that Montoya said about Dennis "he is like a friend outside of work but when you back work he is completely different man." These are extreme exemples but (I don't know how it's said in English ) this is not match working ethic. You know Williams also not fighting to become WCC but doing great stops. I think McLaren have management issues and it's near to to us to see changing some names we are talking about generally
