Lewis Hamilton has won the United States Grand Prix, despite losing first position at the start. The Mercedes driver quickly rectified that situation and went on to dominate the race ahead of the battling that went on behind him. Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen both joined him on the podium for Ferrari.
I only saw the side one and it looked good? .... i still feel max deserved to be on the podium and then demote him after for all i care
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II #Team44 supporter
I enjoyed a lot watching this race, superb Hamilton, well deserved victory. Today FER was too slow for him.
Well deserved WCC to MER, hats off. I hope that next year FER and RBR will give them more headache. Now I'll try to understand why VES was demoted to P4
There is another thing. Verstappen got away often. He was very lucky in several races where he did not drive according the rules. But this was very clear. Deserved penalty. Have a neutral look at it and you can see that.
That does not make his race smaller, which was very good.

He has been penalised for leaving the track. Has he not?
I'm not Max fan BTW.

Fully agree. As an F1 fan you can only object to this descision and give max the credit he deserves. Just look at Raikkonen his body language. Credit to him he knows that he was beaten fair and square and shouldn’t be on that podium.
Part of the battle is each person positioning their car. If one person thinks you can't drive off the track to overtake, how does he defend when his adversary does exactly that? It's no different to just driving straight through a chicane and then declaring how awesome an overtake it was.
As an aside...Red Bull faster than Ferrari? Ominous for Ferrari going into next season.

Isnt there a point to be made that max only left the track due to being squeezed by kimi?

Nobody was going wide at turn 10 and making an overtaking!!! That is why Verstapen was penalized.
