but now a bit more serious here:

Revision Military, a world leader in head protection solutions unique multipurpose helmet suite consists of Coastal Marine, Riverine, Ground Ballistic, and Ground Bump systems. Revision has also developed a new set of accessories that will be provided with the FTHS suite kits. These specially-designed accessories enhance the multiuse helmet systems for Boat, Vehicle, and HALO/HAHO, as well as mountain, river, and direct action operations.

the first bump helmet in the industry that can be can be ballistically-enabled with add-on armor, for blunt force and ballistic protection during specialty operations. This novel operational approach also reduces the neck load burden during highly dynamic operations while still providing the protection required to accomplish the mission. This, coupled with the skeletonization of all system components, has significantly reduced the overall weight compared to helmets on the market today.
they should work together with helmet designers here.

Its a foam that quickly fills the cockpit on impact.

Please don't mind the other response, some people cant enjoy everything. Speed Racer 2008 has some of the best Mother/Son-Father/Son writing I've ever seen.

But the pure over-the-top craziness isn't for everyone.

As someone said, the halo is a passive system that is always in place.

All the active systems, regardless if Injection Seat or Speed Racer Foam, are activated upon impact. But since we are talking about objects impacting on the helmet that is too late.

Detecting small objects will be way to difficult. Also analyzing its trajectory would require a lot of computer power in the cars.

However it is a good idea. Kudos for coming up with it. It seems even smarter than wielding titanium tubes together to increase safety by 17% (yes not a lot, but i still think it is a good idea(until they make the windshield work)).

Its all over the opening scene with the pillars. Literally, every destroyed car has the effect of spraying the foam, and ejecting the driver in a foam ball.

The idea is brilliant, far better than the heavy, ugly halo.

If the yellow structure behind the driver is held in place by a combination of springs and a piston whose cylinder is filled with a non-Newtonian material that reacts to pressure, then the system could be a passive a passive one that only gets activated by a threshold g force (frontal or lateral).
