U mean where the 2 wires end up? That black box is the electronics box on the Ducati.
Everybody is a Ferrari fan.

Thanks for that! I'm guessing all the front aero elements are intended to keep the front wheel from lifting under hard acceleration?

I guess that's the main objective, however I've read somewhere that there are some benefits on high speed corner stability too, especially on the front wheel.

Aren't mass dampers banned in MotoGP?

There's no mention of mass dampers in the regs.
The crashed bike late last year showed the box's internals, from the view inside it was simple to work out the secret. I've presented my thoughts here.

Looking at images from the recent test, many of the teams are experimenting with what appear to be downforce generating elements around the front. Have the regulations recently been opened up in this area? As recently as 2016 the bikes didn't feature anything like this.

The 2016 bikes had plenty of downforce generating aero on the front. Regulations were drawn for 2017 to ban the winglets BUT as always the designers found a way to circumvent the regulations.

Many started the year without wings but ended the year with them.

the aero effect on the front tyre loading in wet weather seems to be a great progression.

re chatter, one of the teams had tried a solid mass on the top frame member roughly in the middle between the swing arm and steering head, then i heard someone tried an inerter in the same spot, but in the tail, can it work there?

This is Ducati's latest F1 gizmo: a pressure transducer for measuring surface pressure at various points on the GP18's downforce aero.

I wounder how many engineers from Audi's defunct LMP1 program have made their way over to Ducati
