McLaren MCL33 Speculation thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Lol truck is already glued to box?

I hope he means 'engine is already mounted to chassis'
No, literally truck glued (stuck) to the box. Parked so close to, that is
I wish I'd taken Spanish at GCSE instead of French.

That air intake for the engine looks much narrower than all the others we've seen so far??

EDIT*
Looks just like the intake on the MCL32 which would be odd since they run a completely different engine now. All the other Renault engined cars have much wider air intakes

Unless there is a difference between shakedown and filming day the car will not go out today. Filming day is tomorrow after unveil. That is 100%.

but to have different versions of parts for launch/shakedown/filming/testing would require more parts in time. After seeing the Mclaren Doc , they struggled last year to get 1 of everything finished. let alone multiple parts

If I recall properly, their initial plan was to build 2 cars last year.
But with the delay due to de difficulties to put the floor, they decided to build only one car.
Maybe this year they took more margin to be sure to make everything in time.

In my opinion it's the MCL32 they used to test the Halo, like this:

The sidepod inlet now looks normal(mercedes style ;) ) but why is the exit at the rear so high?

Sidepods look like an evolution of the MCL32. That would also fit Mr. Prodromou's explanation of what to expect tomorrow.
