Hate the livery design...just no creativity and it actually makes them look broke without any big title sponsor.

The colour looks good tho

I have always presumed the power units and ancillaries require a known amount of air flow for feeding the PU and cooling. The teams will obviously balance top airbox size and sidepod size according to their aerodynamic philosophy. A smaller airbox with a larger sidepod entrance will give the same airflow as the STR larger airbox and smaller sidepod

If MCL33 is as good as RB14 is, or even if 2 tenths slower, Alonso will easily be finishing ahead of both RB drivers!

McLaren wanted to poach both Dan Fallows and Peter Prodromou from RB and then controversy erupted and they can only get PP. Newey decided to move away from being the primary designer in 2016 and Fallows started leading the overall design and they got the philosophy wrong for RB13, which prompted Newey to get back and lead. All this while, McLaren stared building good chassis. So, in my opinion, PP's contribution for RB in their hay days must have been extremely valuable and McLaren seems to have poached the right man. With PU being the same for both, it would now be a battle of Master (Newey) and the Pupil (PP). Fortunately, Pupil possess arguably the best driver on the grid to drive his creation.

That's my 2 cents for this battle!

So the Mercedes W09 makes Mercedes also look like they are broke?

... I'll never get that "many ads on a car look good" thing.
Yes it's good for the team from a financial perspective, but less ads LOOK way better.

I think the fact that it doesn't seem to have broken down would make him bear climax compared to last season

I believe the car ran fine on its filming day last year too, it wasn't until it was driven full-on at Barcelona that the fuel tank and other issues started to show up

I agree and stated last year that it just shows the different cooling strategies but other people wanted to make it about the one PU needing less cooling and therefore aiding the McLaren aero in that way.

They cancel the Silverstone shakedown last year, it's in the Amazon show. IIRC, car didn't hit the track till pre-season testing.
