And after that terrifying start line incident (its always start line, not grid) we go to a live interview with Lewis Hamilton. How terrified were you with that terrifying terror that terrored you?

could you perhaps not refer to fellow F1 lovers in the states as 'yanks'? it's pretty rude actually.
"Explain the ending to F1 in football terms"
"Hamilton was beating Verstappen 7-0, then the ref decided F%$& rules, next goal wins
while also sending off 4 Hamilton players to make it more interesting"

I'm a Yank and don't find it rude at all. The music idea sucks.

I'm British. They refer to us as Limeys, we to them as Yanks. It's all part of the "special relationship" we're told we have with each other. They "insult" us, we "insult" them, we invade oil-rich countries together. What's not to like? Unless you have oil in your back garden, of course. Then it's probably all a bit worrying.

Perhaps not everyone feels or thinks the way you do!

I would hope not. But you do not have the right not to be offended.

Stephen Fry said it much better than me:

BTW, NSFW (or those who might be easily offended)

Another great idea from the creative minds of Liberty Media to go with the others.
  • New logo - ESPN lookalike
  • New font - now less legible than ever before
  • New information overlays - now with less information
  • Halo - hopefully a stopgap for something better
  • New theme music - you'll forget it 10 seconds after hearing it
  • Boxing announcers - embarrassing
  • No grid girls - politically correct hypocrisy
  • F1 without Ferrari - okay, let's see how that works out
  • "ACTION LAPS" - you remove the commentary, I'll switch off the video (by unplugging from your service)
If you wanted a play-by-play in how to alienate an existing audience, they're doing a bang-up job so far. Hopefully those fresh-faced US spenders are worth it.

<End of Sarcasm/>

In an attempt to provide some balance, at least they're introducing the OTT service.

The halo wasn't a Liberty thing though was it? Formula E (maybe others) will use it and Liberty have nothing to do with them.

As long as the music is Firestarter, and we're one step closer to Wipeout, I'm ok with that.

Yeah, it frustrates me too. GPDA (driver's assoaciation) requested it. FIA implemented it with the help of input from drivers and FOM/Liberty was as far away from this as possible. All FIA open wheel series will use the halo.

It does feel as if Liberty are trying to appeal to a US audience alone. F1 will never be big in the US because the US has its own long history of different motorsport. I hope Liberty don't alienate the rest of their audience in the process.
