Renault Sport F1 R.S. 18

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Still surprised no body is yet to copy the exhaust positioning, what is that??

Any reasons why others are yet to reshape the exhaust??
Because it's not an advantage for most other cars, might even be a downgrade.

I´ve read somewhere FIA is not going to allow the blown rear wing (if it really is that) to continue in next seasons
Only thing they can ban is essentially maximum angle of exaust placement. Which is legal under this current regs. They can't ban "blown rear wing" because that's now what Renault will say they doing nor FIA can confirm they doing it
Max angle
max height
min lenght (position of the exhaust refered to the rear wing in the longitudinal axis)
rear wing height

Modifying any of these they would be essentially banning it

Just a game of words. What Neno was saying is that the FIA can change angle, position and lenght of the exhaust, but techincaly they wouldn't be "banning the blown rear wing". Theoritically you could still have a blown rear wing, they would just try their best to make it impossible.

Most times I understand why they ban some aero device. Wether it's to level the field or try to cut costs by keeping teams from investing tons of money in the new aero gimmick (Although I believe it's impossible to cut costs in F1), or even because it looks ugly. But I see no reason to prevent teams from blowing exhaust gases into the rear wing. Seems easy enough to do and doesn't look like it will keep teams investing tons of cash to see "who blows better".
So why?

Edit: Also, why ban something that's doing no harm at all when they couldn't even ban the ugly a** T-wing properly?
