Rain, the great equaliser. Shame Bottas couldn't take part. Crazy quali.
What exactly was equalised, if I may ask? Once again, it was just pure chaos. Force Indias at 3 and 4 shows that pretty well.
Dramatic phrasing, but specifically the advantage of the machinery was equalised, of course. Everyone had four wheels and engine power was no longer as important as in the dry. Some software and stuff is there for aid, sure, but it can't incorporate intuition, "feel", all that years of experience coming together and making a decision. There's no traction control either. As aforementioned, the ability of the driver is much more important. As shown by Kimi, Hamilton and many others whenever it rains.
I know what you mean. But can you explain me Force Indias at second row then, if the ability of the driver was the most important factor today? (Not talking about general rainy conditions, just today.)

Did the RBRs run out of fuel? They did not push the cars back like Merc and Ferrari did and i just did not pay enough attention

Given how well the Racing Point cars did, the track was getting a lot better towards the end and Lewis still got pole despite Vettel having fresher tyres on a faster track

I am surprised that no one tried their luck on inters right away, would have been pole for anyone in Q3, probably.

Who said it is ONLY coz of the drivers?
Usually in dry nowadays it is 90% car and rest drivers ....but in rain it is 60 % car and rest up to the drivers

And talking about today the FIndia and Vettel did an extra lap...that is how they got the positions

Yes, just like Kimi. Marko said it on TV.

The Red Bull's compromised on wing and now they are going to really suffer from 7th and 8th as they get buffeted into the corners by the cars ahead.

You are a bit off in this case. Chassis still remains a factor in rainy conditions - every single car has different ride hight, rake, suspension geometry, spring stiffness etc. Some perform better on a wet rack, some not! (and engine mapping, torque is not insignicant either)

Brilliant day for Force India after so much bad karma.

3rd and 4th must have sent all sorts of lovely chills down their spines.
Has any brand new team ever finished so high up since the 60's at least?
Brawn 2009 p1 in race and qualy
Yeah, true indeed.

Should be a good race with potentially the fastest car second place. Hope for a Vettel win and the title race will close in again.
In dry Q2, there was 0.050 sec between Ferrari and Merc, Vettel, Hamilton and Kimi did essentially the same lap times.

90% car? Ok then. :)

The conditions today changed extremely fast. Those who have been on the Inters for several laps in a row probably stressed the tyres too much as the track was drying, so an extra lap wouldn't have helped much either. Others couldn't do another lap because their teams did a mistake and so on. Like I said, pure chaos.

Vettel did not do an extra lap compared to Lewis.
