You think he wouldn't have reduced his exposure to risk by taking it easier if there was gravel?
So u r saying it is 100% car in dry? So I can have a go in vettel's car and win the race?LM10 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 25, 2018 3:36 pm90% car? Ok then.siskue2005 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 25, 2018 3:27 pmWho said it is ONLY coz of the drivers?
Usually in dry nowadays it is 90% car and rest drivers ....but in rain it is 60 % car and rest up to the drivers
And talking about today the FIndia and Vettel did an extra lap...that is how they got the positions
The conditions today changed extremely fast. Those who have been on the Inters for several laps in a row probably stressed the tyres too much as the track was drying, so an extra lap wouldn't have helped much either. Others couldn't do another lap because their teams did a mistake and so on. Like I said, pure chaos.
True. Actually it's very surprising that some people seem to just look at driver performance as if the cars turn into the exact same cars when it's wet. In fact, they still remain completely different cars from each other which do have completely different characteristics. Not to forget warming up the tyres, which is at least as important on wet tyres as it is on slicks.SchuMassa wrote: ↑Sat Aug 25, 2018 3:29 pmYou are a bit off in this case. Chassis still remains a factor in rainy conditions - every single car has different ride hight, rake, suspension geometry, spring stiffness etc. Some perform better on a wet rack, some not! (and engine mapping, torque is not insignicant either)Sierra117 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 25, 2018 3:20 pmDramatic phrasing, but specifically the advantage of the machinery was equalised, of course. Everyone had four wheels and engine power was no longer as important as in the dry. Some software and stuff is there for aid, sure, but it can't incorporate intuition, "feel", all that years of experience coming together and making a decision. There's no traction control either. As aforementioned, the ability of the driver is much more important. As shown by Kimi, Hamilton and many others whenever it rains.

And if my Uncle had different bits he would be my Aunt. He doesn’t though......So he’s still my Uncle.
This dude you always come up with the wildest theories. Kimi and the redbulls ran out of fuel. Bottas didn't run. Force India most likely would have finished 7th and 8th otherwise.LM10 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 25, 2018 3:24 pmI know what you mean. But can you explain me Force Indias at second row then, if the ability of the driver was the most important factor today? (Not talking about general rainy conditions, just today.)Sierra117 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 25, 2018 3:20 pmDramatic phrasing, but specifically the advantage of the machinery was equalised, of course. But they didn't, which shows that it was pure chaos ongoing. No equalising whatsoever. Do you understand what I mean now?siskue2005 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 25, 2018 3:45 pmAnd why does everyone going crazy about the force India's? There was 4 top cars missing in the qualy, and they were 3.4 sec behind the pole lap...they would only have been 7th and 8 th out of 10 cars
But your uncle is a handsome girl alreadyRestomaniac wrote: ↑Sat Aug 25, 2018 3:46 pmAnd if my Uncle had different bits he would be my Aunt. He doesn’t though......So he’s still my Uncle.
They didn't coz Bottas had pently and he didn't run.LM10 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 25, 2018 3:47 pmBut they didn't, which shows that it was pure chaos ongoing. No equalising whatsoever.
