Toro Rosso STR13 Honda

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

look like TR both old wing and new. hopefully they keep using the old wings. it look it better efficiency. they used it in silverstone.

Honest question,

How do you deduce it's better efficiency by looking at it? What's the aerodynamic basis of that claim?

They need to understand new package as well. Maybe new package is designed to reduce sensitivity as old package quite volatile. As mid runner is splitted less than 0,5 sec, Tost urged the team to get more constant and stable result rather than outright speed. However i tend to agree with u that new package is more inefficient as the outboard section guide airflow downward to help seal the floor. But if they do it correctly, it will improve floor sealing and help diffuser effectiveness as well so yeah, it would offset each another and may help to better performance overall. Also next year as the outwash canard is prohibited, they need to discover new idea how to fight tire wake.

i believe gasly mentioned that the new package they brought confusing result. obvisouly it made them slower , so that why the reverted back to the old front wing in silverstone. i guess TR still struggling with aero correlation issues

Quite high AoA given the circuit characteristics and power defect.

Monza RW probably carried over from last year. Not the shallowest.

So many pressure taps. I assume this might be the norm? FW is pretty unregulated compared to the RW, so why not route taps throughout it.
