I have a feeling Lewis is going to be all over the team in the post-race. they waited way too long to bring him in for his second stop.
yup like 4 laps were he lost 1.5 sec avg per lap
That would have been enough
The only thing is his tyres went crap after 20 laps, at that point there were a good 25 laps to go. So pitting then run the risk of having bad tyres again later on.
but atleast he would have had track postion over Verstappen at that point, and he could have tried to pass Kimi early on and cruise to victory on the last laps

Plus. It’s the long game. He didn’t need to win as he would still be ahead of Vettel.

Kimi punked Hamilton with that pitstop. Well it was a lottery at that stage.
What makes you say that. Lewis was told do the opposite to Kimi which he did.
It's more Ferrari punked Mercedes than Kimi doing it to Hamilton. Mercedes has become predictable with the 'do the opposite' tactic.
but Ferrari were not even on their pit box at that time....Merc pitbox could clearly see they were just fooling themselves

If they had timed it so Lewis came out just in front of Max, he wouldn't have had to push nearly as hard and probably would have gotten Kimi at the end.

Jesus the sky commentators are morons, they said Lewis has to outscore Vettel by 5 Points for the remainder of the season.

No Dumb Dumbs he just has to score
5 points.

I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo happy Kimi win. He deserved it.

I thought Ferrari made a mistake by not pitting under VSC but it was a great call still Ham could have win if he did his 2nd pit stop 3 laps earlier than he did. Unforced error there.

Kimi should win ALL the remaining races! So he can be the SECOND in the championship :D :D :D

Oh god damn it. I’m on Florida next week on Holiday. In fact the last 3 times (including the high possibly this time) that Hamilton has won the WDC I’ve been on holiday.

I think Lewis is a bit gutted he didn’t win his 5th here at COTA, because the US is a bit his 2nd home. Mexico is also fun, but not the same.

Mexico turn 1 can provide lots of drama as well!

Only 26 points still between Verstappen and Bottas, who dropped behind Kimi now. Could be exciting for third in the championship! (if anyone would care)

also please tell me how many time Bottas has been piz poor slow than even the 3rd fastest car and that too on the best car on the field? 15 races till now.
Of course he is slow when he is just there to let Hamilton through and try to screw Vettel or Kimi. The guy is probably mentally crushed considering how many times he had to let other driver through and have his strategy decided based on trying to hold ferraris.
yeah when you are slow like that on the best car of the grid and get beaten by a guy starting 18th on the 3rd best car, then you deserve to be treated like a lap dog
It seems you forgot that his teammate on the best car of the grid starting from pole got beaten by a guy starting 18th on the 3rd best car and with the help of his teammate letting him through twice in the race.

I think Mercedes underestimated Kimi. They felt they had the pace on him and also on the tires too. Ferrari though was fast and had better tire deg. Underestimating this, they took the gamble to drive for thr win rather than go for the safe 2nd. I am happy they did. Really happy for Ferrari and Kimi.

As toto said; if Vettel didnt have that spin, he would have been a strong contender for the win...
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Its all hindsight but Mercedes should've boxed Lewis for the undercut the moment he was stuck behind Kimi who was on used Ultras, undercut would've been huge then he could've just managed a new set of softs until the end.
