Red Bull RB15

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The livery certainly looks to be hiding something around this rear segment. They appear to of painted this are in full gloss back to help hide the undercut (looks like you can see a slight reflection of the red stripe above in the gloss?). Perhaps there is something tricky going on here, or they want to hide from the other teams just how tightly packaged the rear of the car is.

Are they trying to create more suction at the S duct with this kind of spoiler
Perhaps to deflect the air from Sduct, so it flows close to surface of the nose, not flowing directly into the helmet

Looks like they've take that horn concept that Mercedes had mounted on the side of the chassis last season and somehow incorporated it into their barge board layout. Perhaps this is to help clean up some of that air now being forced inboard and trying to reattach it to the outer board of the car along the sidepod?

Also looks like another camo livery, you can see how the stripes on the side of the car near the barge boards help break up their shape.
They had it last year it was mounted higher up.

Alright guys stop it. This is not the Place for yet another Honda vs. Renault or Red Bull vs. McLaren bash party.

Some Posts have been removed.

Whoa, wasn't expecting such tight sidepods...

On another note, the RD seems to have a bigger scoop above the engine. So looks like Honda packaged more coolers on top of the engine instead of stuffing them into the sidepods. Lets see if this tradeoff works with the RB aero concept...

We moved another couple livery posts to to the team thread. Please, don't post livery discussion here, even if the question is what they are trying to hide. That's simply too much speculation.

Of all the cars launched so far, RB15 made my jaw drop...…..as usual.

Engine cover is remarkable, if it actually runs like that it's amazing. I'll be most interested to see the exhaust manifold and routing.
Front wing main plain looks interesting but I'm expected all cars to have this? Surprised to see Mercedes actual running car without this?
Sculpted floor is a work of art.
