Scuderia Toro Rosso STR14

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Shitty picture quality, because it's taken from the twitter clip, but you can already see that the bargeboard area and the sidepod deflectors differ alot compared to the render images. It's all connected now and the free space on the bottom is gone.

Not to mention the bend front wing endplate. Because you know, that's something nobody would have guessed and therefore imperative to hide on your launch render #-o .

Ok can we please stop the bantering about what PU sounds more PU'ish? They both sound better than an average 2.0 TDI.

The PU sounds far, far cleaner on the upshifts than it has the previous two years - that horrible resonance noise has gone - hopefully Honda has got to the bottom of it's vibration problems. =D>

Or they are running in a de-tuned mode in order to preserve the integrity of the PU, no nasty surprises the first day, but at the end, I hope Honda is running their PU without limitations.

Even in detuned testing mode previously the upshifts were harsh.

Do we know if str uses the redbull engine and gearbox dyno? Or if redbull developed a new gearbox and both teams are using it?

That‘d probably explain why the engine shifts smoothly.
