Scuderia Ferrari SF90

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Unique airbox and look how big the shark fin is, super tight packaging.
yup. even the airbox inlet looks rather small. So exactly the opposite direction of redbull. Ferrari seems to place radiators in the sidepods and slim down the airbox, redbull slimmed the sidepods and as a bigger scoop.

More black, matt finish. Best paint job for a long time. Overall, just like the other two top teams a natural evolution. No radical design changes at first glance.

The front wing pretty much confirms that the Sauber didn't just have elements missing.

At first sight the car looks surprisingly uninteresting. The airbox looks like a weird move, completely the opposite what the rest of the grid does.

Clearly an evolution of last year's car. Even slimmer packaging. And of course, the most interesting detail on every Ferrari engined car, the stacked wastegates.

Dunno if it is because of paint but they also have a higher part of bargeboard after restricted zone
So do redbull, there is a way to have parts above.

On this shot, the sidepod intakes look larger this time, but the sidepod area still seems to be narrower? At least when comparing the uncovered space of the rear tires.

Frontal area of the sidepods seems to be bigger than last year?

Interesting to see if these front wings are the way to go.

The intake definitely is bigger, but I'm not sure about the overall area.

Either the angle, or the perspective, of the photo is slightly different which could explain this.

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️
