To me it seems Vettel was not pushing to-the-max in last sector
Or he pushed too much in the first two, then his tyres overheated in the last section (as these hyper softs are not good for Catalunya track)

Actually he tried both on different runs. In a run befor he was much faster in the last sector and slower in sector 1 and 2. But the overall faster lap was the latter.

It certainly looks as if he is pushing less then Hamilton, S1 and S2 included. Relatively easy drive from him tbh, Hamilton looks closer to how he drove in Q3 last year.

From the video, it seems Vettel has been using more track and taking faster lines than Lewis in the first 3 corners

exactly.... playing to his strength then...Lewis knows his car is faster in slow speed corners and he gained more time saving his tyres and pushing in the end, whereas Vettel's car is opposite and he pushed early to get a better lap

He uses more track, but he doesn't fight the wheel at any corner.

so, fighting the wheel is the signs of pushing?

This pole lap from Vettel also is very smooth, was he not pushing??

This video pretty much underlines what santos told. :) Don't you see a difference in steering wheel motion?

His lap there was so smooth, maybe what you r saying is his first corner jerking due to uneven curbs? is that fighting the steering wheel like santos said? it was such a great lap from Vettel especially how smooth he was in the sector 2 and sector 3.
And can we be only pushing if we have a 10 steering wheel corrections ?? and jerking the wheel out of all corners? that is not how you go fast.

Vettel did a 1m16,720s on the C3 tyre which will be this year softer tyre for the spanish GP. So what do you guys predict, can somebody beat last year pole time of 1:16.173?

wasnt the C3 equivalent to Super softs?
and C4 Ultrasofts and C5 Hypersofts?

No, C1 is equivalent to Hard, C5 to Hypersoft. All others are something in between. C3 is harder than Supersoft.

C3 is last year's soft. C4 is last year's ultra soft. Super soft no longer exists this year because performance gap between them was too small, so they got rid of it.

Nah, I think people are either seeing what they want to see, or reading to much into track conditions and car settings.

For example If you want definitive proof that neither of them was pushing the car to the max, watch the on-boards then go watch last years pole lap. Neither one of them touched break bias during their laps On his pole last year, Lewis changed it 3 times.

On the pole lap Vettel hits every apex except hairpin and the fast left-hander in the stadium. In testing he takes much wider lines and misses the apex on many corners.
