But still Vettel fastest by 8 tenths on hards?
Gaps are abnormally big
5 laps run for Vet vs 13 for Bottas...

So, Mercedes sets the fastest time of the weekend thus far and yet Ferrari's are fastest?

Seems like a narrative I've heard of before. Mercedes and Toto fan boys setting up a heist about how they've won a race without the fastest car.
Maybe Ferrari turned something down after the fault they had on Leclercs car at Bahrain?
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Gap to Merc from Albert Fabrega. Really weird graph...I mean, maybe Merc is running slightly less DF and MF's are running more, but Ferrari is just complete outlier.

I love it when the Ferrari is ahead by a couple of tenths and everyone is like "my god they're in god mode.. their engine is so powerful." Yet, when the Mercedes is ahead by over half a second, there's always a reason why it's an anomaly.

Pirelli 2019 tyres:
Image

Barca tests 22-27 degrees Celsius; Ferrari in the tyre window, Merc and Red Bull are not

Melbourne Pirelli 2019 tyres:
Image

FP1 – 28-31˚C, FP2 and qualy - 41˚C, race - 42˚C, Merc and RB in the tyre window, Ferrari are not (sliding a lot)

Bahrein Pirelli 2019 tyres:
Image
FP1 – 51-54˚C, FP2 - 35-28˚C and qualy 28˚C, race 28˚C, Ferrari in the tyre window, Merc and RB are not (sliding a lot)

Here in China, we have the same tyre allocation as in Melbourne:
Image

FP1 – 29-34˚C, FP2 - 36-29˚C

IN CONCLUSION:
From the tyre allocation and results, until now it seems to me that Ferrari chassis has the sweet spot on lower track temp and Merc & RB on the higher track temp ...

More tyre data for China due to the courtesy of Pirelli :

What does 'power limited' mean?

Mercedes having the lowest overall lap time are the reference. It would make more sense to me showing the best team at each type of corner as 0 and all the others with positive values.

I'd guess 'power limited' is a straight or slight kink you can power through without braking. Ferrari faster than Mercedes everywhere except high speed corners.

It's not him, we have a lot of new people posting uninformed comments all over the place.

The Ferrari was fastest race day car at the last race, what reason would we have to believe that's changed? I mean... Mercedes did actually win the last race without the fastest car... it broke down... it was a Ferrari :wtf:

Schuttelberg is exactly right. That's what's happening for years now. For people who don't care about drivers and stuff, it's funny at first but it's getting more and more annoying.

How it makes sense when Bottas was fastest in FP2 though?

It doesn't make much sense. I can understand classifying sections of the track in those categories, then looking at the sectional times over those sections for each car. With that graph Ferrari should be ahead. Maybe the graph isn't of the fastest lap for each car, but an average?

Could it be the best of each sectors?
