Drive through? Should be a 10secs stop and go!
Q: (Stefano Mancini – La Stampa) Kimi, will you help Vettel to win his championship this year?
Kimi Raikkonen: I can only drive one car, obviously.

Looks like both cars have a good amount of damage, so it's the end for us.

Just proves importance of qualifying higher. It was unlucky and for me the blame solely lies on Kvyat, no driving incident bs, stewards seem to agree. Unless we get a safety car, the race is a write off.

Why did HUL retire the car? Any news if it was a PU issue?

Silver lining after the race was the pace of Sainz... Was watching the lap times and he wasn’t only very consistent, he was closing towards the midfield during the race and even passed Gio at the end... A shame to lose all chances in the first lap, but hopefully something that won’t repeat too often in the following races

Where do we reckon Sainz would have finished without the incident? I think P7 was up for grabs.

I really feel for him, he has been very unlucky. I hope he will have a clean race at Baku because he has been performing really well.
By the way, how much damage did his car have? I think some of the bargeboard elements were lost when Kvyat hit his car.

I agree. P7 was up for graps.
I was watching his times closely the whole race. It seems that his pace was on the "best of the rest" level, and taking into account that he started on fresh mediums he would have advantage over the Renaults and more options on strategy.
He just needed a clear and good first lap because we have to take into account the possibility of stacking behind from another fresh medium runner in front of him. But i think he would have made any passes he needed to do.
His pace, consistency and tire management was really good.

I’m not really sure atm, tried searching for images but haven’t found anything which is particularly clear.

Here’s Sainz and Norris’ car immediately after the incident in the pits respectively.

Seems fairly intact.

Thank you for the photos. You can see on Sainz's car there's something stuck in front of the sidepod opening. I guess that's from Kvyat's car, the mechanics removed it during that pit stop.
