Well, to be fair - Vettel did make a mistake. He was lucky he didnt end in the wall. So penalty harsh, but fair? But i would have prefered none, but then you’d have some moaning about consistency? Really tricky.

Why did you have to make that mistake Seb? :(
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

What should Vettel have done instead? Locking up the wheels on the grass and going straight in the wall?
Brake correctly and not take to the grass. Simple.

I hope Lewis can overtake him on track then at least this wouldn't matter

Hamilton still pushing behind Vettel. I reckon he'd rather take first, not have it given to him.

If I were Ferrari I would retire both cars at penultimate lap...

I cannot stop laughing at the blokes saying the penalty is right!! Mexico 2016?

So you're telling me a driver gets a penalty for having nowhere to go and losing the car in a street circuit, but Max's divebomb in Bahrain on Sainz is perfectly fine, as well as Hamilton casually crossing the pit lane line in Germany?!? Ridiculous.

Chance of Mercedes trying sportsmanship and giving him the 5 sec distance or Hamilton trying to pass Vettel on track? It's not like they are losing the championship... And Ferrari telling Vettel that knowing so very well how he would react, that was odd...

Only sensible post I've seen so far.

Bets on what would have happened if either Vet's "unsafe entry" would have been committed by Ham or Vers?

My money would be on "racing incident".

They still need the points for the fight against RedBull.
But what Vettel could do is simply say absolutly nothing during the Press conference afterwards. They say the driver needs to be there, but they didn't say the driver has to talk about something.

I don’t think Hamilton even wants to try it though. He doesn’t need too.
