I've added a counter for the respective race # or round as well, it would hopefully give out more info in the title.

If Ferrari don't win this I will be amazed. They are so strong on straight and out of acceleration zones and that's like, 80% of this track.

Not prepared to be amazed yet, let's see them be faultless first; I don't think putting them under extra pressure by being the favourite will do anything to help them keep it steady and fast as they should. But, hoping for a Leclerc pole and win, personally.

Come on Bottas! Or Leclerc or Verstappen!

EDIT: anybody else. Fair weather fan fragility won't be able to withstand another Hamilton P1.

Everyone thought that last year, too. Somehow Ferrari lost 3 tenths in S3, after being pretty much on par with Merc in S1 and S2.

Binotto said they will sacrifice their maximum speed for better tire performance

So faster in the race but behind Mercedes? I think they need to go for pole and try and use clean air to stay infront otherwise they will just repeat France and sit behind the mercs by a few seconds all race.

I think they started doing this in France already, as the delta to Mercedes was much smaller.

Faster in the turns and slower on the straits in both qualifying and the race.

Quite a difference between Ferrari and Mercedes with their tyre allocation. Have Ferrari overreacted to the lack of practice time on the harder compounds at previous races, or are Mercedes being too aggressive?

It's a reasonably aero track isn't it, only a week since Lewis blew everyone away, i don't see how anyone is going to turn that around in normal circumstances. I mean he'd have had fastest lap on 29-lap old tyres if he'd prepared for it a bit better. Similar temperatures, even the altitude isn't that different. Of course Valtteri might pull one out for pole but otherwise...

The tyre choices might add some interest if the high temperatures being forecast for Europe arrive. A quick look suggests 30degC for Sunday but that is obviously a long time away in weather forecasting terms. Wet weather possible on Monday. If that arrives early, it could make for an interesting race!

He's beaten Lewis to pole that last two years. If he can't do it this year, I think we will start to see him really slump.

So are people thinking high track temperatures will destroy the soft tyres, giving Ferrari an advantage??

Yes the last two years isn't it, he has to hang onto that. If he can, they can't pass here so it should be his race and that should cheer him up and help him fend off Esteban for next year
