Alfa recurved 30 sec penalty. Lewis 9th and Kubrica 10th :)

So Lewis increases his championship lead

That's odd. Is it a technical infringement or a sporting infringement? I thought time penalties were only applicable for sporting code infringements. They should really be excluded.

to BOT, who is not a serious threat anyway.
VES & VET gained a lot on him today.
Ves is 63 points behind I believe
Vet is 84

If vet is considered a threat, it’d be the comeback of the century
Well it's clear Mercedes does not enjoy the same advantage as last spring and so many more races to go. Sure the gap is large but one more offday day and it becomes a contest.
Yeah true.......after all he only has over 2(Verstappen) & 3(Vettel) DNF’s in his pocket :wtf:

- Masterful wet race by Hamilton. Spin, off, car damage, penalty, then blaming the team. Pretty funny after all the wise comments by impartial F1 experts  . BTW, why didn't they pit Bottas?

- Ferrari should bet everything on Leclerc. He blamed run off surface #-o .

- Just when you thought nothing in F1 can surprise you they gave a TEAM FINE for unsafe release in the damn race when the other driver lost several positions. Where are the crocodile tears of drivers and media about the state of F1 racing?

- Openly cheating circus does not cover a one percent of ludicrousness of this situation. This is also why Ferrari don't win. When you are carried strength of the legs is diminising. Money is good so why even bother.

The rain created an off day for all teams/drivers. Shouldn't be interpreted as normal.

They should, but they succeeded in claiming it was a misunderstanding and not an infringement. Apparently FIA decided to be lenient and go with that excuse.

When they give tyres that go against the wishes of the driver who is actually on track then we can quite rightly blame the team for doing a bad job, it was their mistake that set of the chain of events, that is quite clear to most observers.

So that was a fun race!

Well done Verstappen and RBR, a bit lucky with the SC's but they delivered nonetheless. Great result for Vettel, that should make up a little for last year's disaster.

But Kvyat is driver of the day for me. He was overdue for some luck, the way RedBull has treated him, and maybe this will open the door back to the senior team again.

Mercedes what? Lol, you can't win them all.

And Sainz just keeps stringing up strong results. Loved how Raikkonen just blazed through the field in the opening stages, hated how was let down by a ultra-slow pitstop.

Totally agree with this. Leclerc benefitted from the unsafe release. That’s why they did it. So he should have received a penalty. The penalty needed to be more than the time saved by not waiting for a safe slot to release. Otherwise teams will unsafe release every time and take the financial hit.

Similarly, though not safety related, by entering the pits as he did Hamilton avoided doing a lap with half a front wing. I’d have expected him to lose much more than 5 seconds.

Both scenarios suggest that taking a chance on rule infringement is the “right” way to go under this steward regime.

Exactly. If Max's spin had caused damage he'd have been way back too. Sometimes you just need to have a bit of good fortune on your side. Today Max did and many others didn't.
Hamilton was also very lucky. If he did the.crash at 10 meter forward he would go with that car whole one lap before pitting.
And if verstappen lost it a corner later, he would be where Ham is
But he didnt
