at least at the Vid from Juzh (thanks again by the way, great job)
no matter which finish line you pick
1. line at the straight

2. line at the straight

The first picture is the line where timings are taken. It's just the nature of the F1TV being only 25 fps, which is most cases is not enough to accurately place both cars precisely at the start/finish line. Yes, Vettel finishes the lap "earlier" in my video, but if you check the start of the lap verstappen also starts the lap earlier, so it evens out.Capharol wrote: ↑02 Aug 2019, 21:59can somebody explain to me how it can be that Verstappen is clocked faster as Vettel despite the fact Vettel got over the line earlier as Verstappen?

I'm only viewing on my phone so it's a bit hard to tell exactly, but is it possible the two vids are not perfectly in sync ?Capharol wrote: ↑02 Aug 2019, 21:59can somebody explain to me how it can be that Verstappen is clocked faster as Vettel despite the fact Vettel got over the line earlier as Verstappen?

ok thank you for your explanation, i noticed it because it always try to pick reference points to see where 1 car is faster then the otherJuzh wrote: ↑02 Aug 2019, 22:12The first picture is the line where timings are taken. usually Bottas is pretty strong in Hungary. No idea how much of a setback the engine issue will be, but also two years ago he beat Hamilton in qualifying, and over this season he usually was at his best on circuits that tend to be front-limited.
I think the traffic hampered Vettel a bit, he couldn't position his car in the way he would want to entry the penultimate corner and understeers there.Juzh wrote: ↑02 Aug 2019, 21:37laps from fp1. vettel is using a race map with K1 button pressed (overtake mode) on the main straight, seen from the flashing green light. Verstappen seems to also be using something similar, seen from the red lights on the steering wheel.

It's just the MOD bias. It was turbo's turn to pick the picture. I think he wanted James Hunt but Steven says we have to at least pick a car that was in the session so we got Max.Just_a_fan wrote: ↑03 Aug 2019, 02:22Anyone have any idea why RedBull are shown on the FP1 cover shot on the forum? Far as I know, Hamilton doesn't drive for RedBull...
Is the forum becoming pro-Max / anti-Hamilton?
Maybe it's as innocuous as the last race winner? It would be bad for this forum to show bias towards a driver.Just_a_fan wrote:Anyone have any idea why RedBull are shown on the FP1 cover shot on the forum? Far as I know, Hamilton doesn't drive for RedBull...

no, it's no joke, I can see him taking Pole today - as he did on 3 of 4 front limited circuits so far this year. And if he does, that should be enough to finish ahead of Verstappen tomorrow.drunkf1fan wrote: ↑03 Aug 2019, 02:03I'm not sure if that is a joke or not?

His best circuits are those with little to no deg, Russia, etc, not front limited ones. As with Rosberg if he can qualify ahead or be ahead in the first corner at a track with hard passing like Singapore/Monaco, otherwise he'll be overcut or be a sitting duck late in the race as he was last year here, Brazil, USA and anywhere similar.
