He did his job well since McLaren has shown improvements immediately after those changes and now he only has to worry about bringing sponsors to the team since Andreas has taken over with the management of the racing team.
Abiteboul was sluggish to not sign Seidl as Renault operations manager. IMO Seidl is a good operation and would be an asset to Renault.

Interesting that Renault choose to sign Ocon, even though Ocon is considered "not good enough" for Mercedes! How curious! Hulk will be cross as he was doing a good job.

Not sure he is/was considered "not good enough", or just "not better than". If they have a known quality it is more of a leap to change.

I agree, the sponsor roster he has built at Maclaren to support the the racing programme is phenomenal... I mean when was the last we saw coke in F1?
I think the powder has been around for a while there!

I was going to say 'the last time a Renault engine blew'

( note to non English, coke is burned material)

which of the 3 meanings from the word coke are sponsoring Renault?:
1. Cocaine (could explai they're money upgrade 😉)
2. Turf that has been burned (could be a secret code for a blown up engines 🙈)
3. Coca Cola (could explain they're hyper speed, due to overconsum of Caffeine🤣)

Replacing Hulkenberg with Ocon definitely improves the team, if it happens.

Always like Nico, but it never came together for him being in the right place at the right time in the right car.

His window is closing and Ocon will be in the top tier of drivers in the future.

So will Ocon still be on loan from Merc? In other words, can Merc just take him back at the beginning of any year?

Nah, this is the end of Ocon's Merc relationship.
The only one coming in from Renault to Merc will be Daniel.
Which is why Hulk won't actually leave :D

not sure why Renault would agree to that Ocon might be good but Dan is proven top talent. unless there is a performance clause in his contract at Renualt are failing to meet it at the moment which allows him to break his deal would be rather great to see him vs hamilton in the same car.

For me Ocon is an unknown quantity. He maybe better than the Hulk or not.

I'll wait for this rumour to be confirmed before I believe.
