Valtteri Bottas has won the Japanese Grand Prix after taking the lead at the start of the race. The Finn controlled the race after that while Vettel and Hamilton battled it out for second place.

You can tell that Toto Wolff knows how peed off Hamilton is by how quickly he jumped on the radio reminding him about the WCC win.

Understandable that Lewis would be angry, but Bottas had a great start, drove a flawless race, and had a certain victory taken from him in Sochi last year.

Bottas had that win taken away because at that time he was irrelevant in the WDC unlike his team mate who was in a 2 way battle with Vettel. And that’s from somebody who hates team orders.
Let’s be honest. Today Mercedes have given up a clear 1-2 for no other reason than to massage Bottas’s ego.
I gave Ferrari grief for recently screwing 1 of their drivers to create a 1-2 but that at least made sense on some level. This today is just stupid.

I don’t know what some people are angry about regarding Hamilton? Bottas has been “Valtteri, it’s James”’d two times this season and generally is the best wingman you could wish. James told Bottas in Singapore that he would pay it back and this was it.

Hamilton won WDC already anyway. Everyone claiming that there still is a mathematical chance for him not to win, is joking or not honest.

The team's job is to ensure both cars finish as high as possible. In singapore, if Bottas wasn't ordered to slow down, the other car would have been behind Albon. Team comes first before individuals and to that extent, they bottled it here.
