Well I'm excited, unless Mercedes was hiding pace all along and they found a stratospheric amount of performance this will be a very close season at least between these two. Who knows what Ferrari does.

Well, it is Mercedes, the kings of sandbagging who litterally ran under performing on purpose last winter test by their own admission. I will not believe Honda / RBR is ahead until I see Max holding the WDC trophy in december 2020 at the FIA Gala

It looks like mercedes using different calculation by going a bit slower than their real pace. maybe they get this by running a bit heavier. Until now it worked. But I wonder what they will do if something goes wrong with them or Redbull puts a lap time that they did not estimate or better than their own peak performance they calculated.

Bottas qualified with a 15.4 last year. Maybe that was a miracle lap, but Red Bull needs to be within striking distance of that, it's scary to think Mercedes could potentially dip into the 14's.

Max on his chances for 2020: 'When we get in the fight, we can win'

“Everything is very car dependent in Formula 1, but when you can put pressure on the guy in front it’s a lot harder for him,” Max said. “I’m looking forward to it,” he concluded. “When everything is put together, in pressure situations – such as in Brazil or Germany – then the team really excels compared to the others. So I’m looking forward to when we get that fight and we are really close. If we get that then I’m pretty sure we can win.”

“You can look forward to a Max who doesn't start with the knife between his teeth in Melbourne. He knows that you don't win the world title in the first corner, not in the first race, but with constant top performance. ”

Red Bull is the best « racing «  team.
Mercedes can struggle under pressure, and Ferrari struggle even with no pressure

So with an equal car RB would be better than Merc
