It looks better than expected.

That’s definitely the car from the wind tunnel model in the preview video. Seems to follow most of the common trends tbh, had to see how it might match up to the midfield pack yet

Still has that rather fat rear engine cover. Clearly a lot of cooling on the centreline. Sidepods look OK though

Smallest sidepod inlets of the grid?

Looks pretty decent, I think Williams have been on the chubby side the past years, this looks tight.

And best livery in many years

Looks wider that the rear clamshell than most, but maybe that’s an illusion as most cars ‘tuck’ under this.. interesting sidepod configuration, hopefully this is ‘stable’ in cornerning..

It does look tighter compared to last year though, and there should be room for improvement.

The middle section of the engine cover looks quite bloated in comparison to the tight packaging of the sidepods.

It does. They seem to have gone for the tiniest possible sidepods but bulked out on the engine cover. That’s not necessarily a bad thing - I dare say the spectre of the FW41 undercut is encouraging them to clear as much away from the sides as possible. Not great for C/G but we’ll see how it works. It’s not that much more extreme than some others.

What I really want for Christmas is a carbon gearbox.
