Also, Latifi's times and lap counts from yesterday look pretty good in relative terms.
Does that mean simply closing the gap to the midfield, or being within touch of a couple midfield teams?
Well, for the first time in two years, Williams’ fastest time in winter testing wasn’t the slowest of all, which has got to be a good thing (they were ahead of Haas and Alfa). However, because we don’t know fuel loads and other bits and bobs, it’s not clear if that translates to being on par with or ahead of any other teams. Several ‘experts’ including Gary Anderson think that Williams is still last, albeit by tenths rather than seconds. Anderson thinks Williams’ fastest runs were with a bit less fuel than other teams, for some reason. He admits part of his ‘analysis’ is based on gut feeling.
