I wouldn't be surprised if this means the lights will go green at 12pm AEDT for FP1 and then.... nothing happens as all teams have withdrawn... :?:

Based on Vettel's comments the other day the drivers and the GPDA may walk out from any proceedings...which group will be the one to have common sense?

According to two sources, a vote of the teams overnight over whether to continue or not came out as 5-5. I'm so disappointed. #F1 #AusGP

Why is that disappointing?

It's certainly curious. You can imagine 5 teams running and the other 5 packing up and going either to self-isolation or home.

I didn't said that, that was in the tweet of Chris Medland. :)

Ferrari and Alfa Romeo are probably those that are among the 5 teams against the GP. Andrew Benson is now reporting that both Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen have flown home, there is also not a sign of activity at Ferrari in the paddock.

Probably yes that's what they are waiting for...it has to do with money for sure!

It just doesn't make sense 6 hours ago everyone saying it's cancelled and now the Chairman saying the opposite!

Even if the Aus GP officials decide they want the race to go ahead...i don't see the teams participating at all! But i'm curious to see which 5 teams want the race to go ahead!

My guess: All Mercedes powered teams (MB,RP,Wil) + RB - AT-Honda =P~

Not sure, but isn't there an minimum amount of entrants set? If I'm correct this is 16, so if those 5 teams decided to not race, there'll be no race.

Well, scrutineering was yesterday, so it is not about the highlighted section.

Holy cow, this train wreck just keeps getting worse and worse.

Folks will be talking about "Melbourne, 2020" for the next 100 years in F1 circles.

I can't believe they've called it off! F1 used to be dangerous! Take a few risks! I'm dying to find out just how slow the Ferraris are!
ah, people need to risk death for YOUR entertainment.
#-o #-o #-o #-o

go ahead, take a few risks, go find your local Corona infected, stick your tounge in his/hers mouth, armpits,
let them spit in your mouth, then kiss your loved ones, go to your elderly parents or grandparents, and visit your friends pregnant wife.

you've got to be kidding me.
Let's look at the facts shall we?

99% of ppl infected experience flu-like symptoms and recover within a week. It's only dangerous to ppl over 70 and those compromised immune systems.

Yes, it's highly contagious, however it's not the Plague!

Excellent point.

For contractual and/or selfish reasons, Australia Grand Prix Corporation have no interest in cancelling the Formula One sessions. Indeed, they have opened the event to the public this morning and are running support race sessions as usual... despite knowing there was a COVID19 infected person in the crowds at the recent Cricket final in Melbourne.

Yet there is no will, on the other hand, from FIA or Liberty Media to cancel the Formula One sessions either. Leading to a curious impasse indeed.

My bet is on the light going green at 12pm AEDT and then either five teams or no teams running.
