It will be somewhat ironic if “the drinks company” are the only ones who want to race and all the ‘proper’ racing teams don’t.
Not really, it shows that they don't care about their staff though
But the staff are already there and have been all week. Not staying a few days extra will be like closing the gate after the horse has bolted.

Don't be silly. All the Supercars teams ran their cars without issue on Thursday.

If European teams felt they were at risk, they should not have flown to Australia at all...

well isnt it ironic that a simpel drink company can challenge the ''proper'' racing teams.
seems that the ''proper'' racing teams are not quite so special @ all.
they got all the knowledge and money and still they have a hardtime wining from a drinks company.

quite sad actually, seems redbull is punching far above there weight and the real racing teams are screwing up bigtime

I’ll put this in context.

If Kimi, Lewis and Seb have left then every WDC on the grid has pretty much said ‘screw this’.

i don't see Max taking points like this, or Dietrich either, that would seriously lack dignity. It'll be a test session, at the most now i think, if the others have really gone

The parties involved on the event staging end apparently want the event to continue for monetary reasons.

The teams themselves do not want to continue for political reasons. They can't be seen as insensitive to the health of the crowd or their team members.

It's all bullshit. Just run the race.

Again, this makes zero sense. Unless someone can offer a decent explanation I can't believe the teams would show up only to then not participate. Essentially took full risk exposure without taking any benefit. Let's wait until there's actual official words coming from the teams.
The situation is the same everywhere. If not, it’ll come to you. People questioning how serious it is. Some taking serious. Many not. Everyone looking at their governments for guidance, yet nothing is happening because they are all taking a reactive approach and weighing up economic impact vs saving lives. Blame the governments for not showing clear leadership in a crisis that is growing by the day.

If governments are struggling because they havent been in a situation such as this before, how can you blame teams for not knowing and being bound by contracts and their obligation to show up?
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

I haven't seen anything that confirms Lewis has left.

Hence why I said ‘If’.

Has any team started prepping for P1 session?

I haven't seen anyone reporting on that aspect of it. Doesn't mean someone isn't doing that though.

And there it is. The track won't cancel because of money and the FIA won't cancel because of money. So the teams are effectively saying "it's cancelled" and helping the FIA out of a hole.

I've just read reports Toto Wolff has tested positive for Covid-19, Doctors say they expect the virus to make a full recovery.
